CTN's Intergenerational Youth Program is proud to announce a new community partnership with the Urban School. In a six-week course, sophomores from the Urban School will prepare to become responsible and resourceful citizens who partner with nonprofit agencies and organizations. The course will introduce the students to frameworks for effective citizenship, community engagement, and professionalism. Its goals are:

•    Introduce students to working with a community partner
•    Prepare students for independent 11th-grade service learning internships
•    Review and preview how factors such as race, ethnicity, culture, and class help shape one's identity and experiences

Two teams of four students will conduct one-on-one computer instruction once a week for seniors residing at Eastern Park Apartments. The group will be supervised by Konstantin Chuykov, a San Francisco City College student. The high school students will be assessed on the quality and sincerity of their participation, written reflections, project proposals, and presentations. This partnership will increase CTN's San Francisco youth crew by eight students, bringing the total to over 25, aged 16 to 24.
