Microsoft Word Beginner 1 (MWB1) |
This tutorial teaches Microsoft Word basics. Although knowledge of navigating within a Windows environment is helpful, this class is perfect for people who have never used Microsoft Word before. Participants will learn to open the application, create a new document, add text, save and close the word file and exiting the application. | Microsoft Word Beginner 2 (MWB2) | This course is most useful when taken in conjunction with Beginner 1. Beginner 2 will review basic skills of Microsoft Word and cover elementary formatting techniques by using the Standard Toolbar such as adding text/pictures, copying/pasting, font and paragraph formatting, undo/redo functions and shortcut notations using the keyboard. | Microsoft Word Beginner 3 (MWB3) | This class will explain how to use the Formatting Toolbar to enhance the design of Microsoft Word documents. Word has an exceptional array of tools to create a document to suit one's needs. Instructors should assess the needs of the class in general and introduce approximately 15 formatting tools to cover these needs. Participants should become familiar with indentation, alignment, text boxes, font styles and sizes, adding colors and printing options. | Microsoft Word Beginner 4 (MWB4) | This final class in the introductory Microsoft Word series will review using the Formatting Toolbar to modify text. Participants will also learn to insert pictures, Clip Art, and WordArt to create documents with a professional look. The class should using default and custom tabs, alignment, creating tables, inserting ClipArt, Pictures, applying styles, formatting sections in a document, headers and footers in multi-section documents, converting a document to HTML, inserting Bookmarks, creating hyperlinks, inserting bullets and setting the page background. INTERMEDIATE MICROSOFT WORD
It is quite possible to create documents without having to change any of the settings – participants can work around most of the formatting and options the program tries to impose on them and their results will be decent. But why settle for decent when you can have a top-notch document without much added effort? With the intermediate Word tutorials, CRC class participants learn how to customize documents and then move on to customizing their settings, so that Word responds more effectively to their input.

| Microsoft Word Intermediate 1 (MWI1) | This class introduces participants to graphical tools that allow creative liberty to customize documents to suit their needs. Participants learn to insert ClipArt images, photographs and scanned images, to use the picture toolbar to customize images to desired size, contrast, brightness, color and background, to draw custom shapes and lines and to create WordArt. | Microsoft Word Intermediate 2 (MWI2) | Participants learn to format text using the Formatting toolbar. This class involves working with the Font Dialog Box, applying Indents and Spacing, controlling Pagination, applying and modifying Styles, formatting Bulleted and Numbered Lists, formatting paragraphs, find/replace function and using the Thesaurus function. | Microsoft Word Intermediate 3 (MWI3) | This class is extremely useful for participants interested in sharpening their formatting skills and builds on concepts that allow them to incorporate tables in basic text documents. Participants will learn to create tables, insert a uniform table, draw a table freehand, navigate/populate a table, insert/split and merge cells, adjust table width and height, delete rows/columns/tables, format table appearance and sort and calculate in tables. | Microsoft Word Intermediate 4 (MWI4) | This class builds on concepts learned in preceding Intermediate classes and introduces participants to functions that are very practical in daily office work. Participants are introduced to the Letters & Mailings function using the mailing wizard and learn to create large letter mailings and labels and envelopes. BEGINNER MICROSOFT EXCEL
This tutorial teaches Microsoft Excel basics. Although knowledge of how to navigate in a Windows environment is helpful, this tutorial was created for the computer novice but requires that the participant have attended the Basic Computers class. This class series will exemplify the true potential that Excel offers to anyone willing to learn and explore its varied and highly useful functions. Functions will be taught using examples that will clearly illustrate the application and desired optimum result.

The class will cover basic toolbar functions and will introduce basic typing and operations using the spreadsheet. | Microsoft Excel Beginner 2 (MEB2) |
This class builds on earlier concepts with participants learning further basics such as navigating cells, adding worksheets, rows, and columns, resizing rows and columns, selecting cells, moving, copying and sorting cells and freezing panes. Participants will be required to be conversant with concepts taught in Beginner 1.

| Microsoft Excel Beginner 3 (MEB3) |
This class will familiarize participants with formulae and functions that can be applied to simplify mathematical and accounting processes in an Excel spreadsheet. Participants will learn to link worksheets, apply relative, absolute, and mixed referencing and also perform basic functions such as Autosum using the function wizard. Basic ascending and descending sorts, complex sorts, Autofill, alternating text and numbers with Autofill and other highly useful Autofill functions will be introduced.

| Microsoft Excel Beginner 4 (MEB4) | Participants will learn to translate and represent results using graphical tools available in Excel. Several functions facilitating graphical data representation are available. Participants will learn to add an image from a file, edit a graphic and apply AutoShapes. Emphasis will be laid on creating Charts, resizing and moving a chart, using the Chart formatting toolbar and copying a chart to Microsoft Word. | Microsoft PowerPoint 1 (MPP1) | The first tutorial in the series introduces participants to PowerPoint using the AutoContent Wizard. Participants learn to create a new presentation and navigate within the PowerPoint screen. | Microsoft PowerPoint 2 (MPP2) | The second tutorial in the series teaches participants to create and edit a custom slide show. Participants learn to add content to a Text box, resize and customize it using Text box properties and finally to delete a text box. | Microsoft PowerPoint 3 (MPP3) | In the third of the series of classes, participants learn to use Color Schemes, apply backgrounds, graphics, add clip art and file images.
